10 Banks Greenlighted to Repay $68 billion in CPP Repayments

The U.S. Department of Treasury has approved 10 of the largest banks in the Capital Purchase Program to repay $68 billion.

“These repayments are an encouraging sign of financial repair, but we still have a lot of work to do,” said Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner in a statement.

More than 600 banks nationwide have participated in the CPP, representing $199 billion in investments.
