The strategic thinking exists, but without any strategic analysis and more important with pure strategic planning. In these conditions is not worth the strategic analyst position.
Plus in Romania the rules of the game are changing faster than expected…The turnover rate for top and middle management is around 30% each year.

Big Player, yes, but they have been pounded by their customers and the media (for TARP and for their POOR performance) over the past two years. I mean, they used to be a HUGE, National bank...now they're back to focusing on being a community banker, it seems.

I called on First Horizon three years ago...I remember speaking to one of their officers who snarled at me when I asked about "the competition in Tennessee." THEY said, "We have the largest market share in Tennessee - we don't have to worry about it." (WHEW!)

I said, "Yeah, but, the times are a 'changin and marketshare is always fleeting." WIth that attitude, NO WONDER Pinnacle is doing great! There's great opportunity for you, too.

The name is a challenge since First TN is such a big player in this market. I do not know the people you mentioned personally, but I do know the names. I have heard that Pinnacle is doing great too!

I used to travel to Nashville several years ago when BankTennessee was owned by a Middle Tennessee holding company. I love it there, and my husband and I hope to move to the area some day.

Hi Michael,
BankTennessee is not related to First Tennessee except that they are in our market. The similarity does cause confusion. Wish we could change our name, but now is not a good time to do so. Thanks for touching base!

PS I visited Green Bay once several years ago and went to the Packers training camp. It was so much fun! Awesome town!

We work with Nicolet; formerly, with M&I Bank in Minneapolis. We do similar work in other industries, too. Thanks for asking/Thanks for the Props, too :)

Michael, after a few days of vacation, I finally got around to reviewing that sample of IntellectualMarketing's work. Very interesting. Do you do such economic pulse reports in other regions of the nation or just for the Green Bay area?
