If there was any doubt before, Goldman Sachs & Co. is very serious about maintaining its branding and image online.
Case in point, it is taking on the owner of a blog that includes the institution’s name in its URL and, according to the blog’s homepage: “is an open forum for facts and discussion about what part Goldman Sachs and their executives played in the current Global Economic Crisis”
This serves as another interesting example of how a corporation handles its online intellectual property.
Intellectual property my foot! The problem is that this is more likely a misguided attempt to protect what has become their bread and butter – having their hooks in almost everything. Of course, that’s just the conspiracy theorist in me. That and the guy who’s jealous they can raise $5.5 billion when I can’t seem to scrounge up a few million.
