We’re always on the lookout for fresh voices on the blogging scene and The Financial Brand certainly is one. Written by Jeffry Pilcher, a marketing consultant based in Nevada, The Financial Brand is one of the lone blogs focused on bank marketing and brand management. For the last few weeks I’ve been mulling over a theory that marketing and brand management might be the keys to pulling the banking industry out of this mess. The growing important of brand in banking today makes Jeffry’s blog all the more relevant and important. Check it out. It even looks nice!
Thanks for the endorsement JJ!
The site focuses on retail consumer banking. That is to say it doesn’t cover investment banking, brokerages, insurance, commercial banking, etc. At least not yet anyway, since right now, all articles are written by me.
There are about 4-10 articles every week, given fairly equal coverage to branding, marketing, advertising, public relations, naming and other topics that affect the image of a retail financial institution. I also strive very hard to balance articles between both banks and credit unions, because, as I see it — indeed as most consumers see it — there aren’t a lot of differences between these two types of FIs as far as their public-facing brands are concerned. And the brand-building tools used by any organization (bank, credit union or otherwise) are fairly universal.
